Burkina Faso: Urban Mobility Project Procurement Plan – LOMPO, Mathieu
Ollo Franck Hervé Kansié was officially installed as the Director General of the Agence Générale des Travaux d’Infrastructures du Burkina (AGETIB) on July 1st, 2024, replacing Mathieu Lompo who had led the agency for six years.
The change in leadership took place during a ceremony held at the Ministry in charge of Infrastructure, presided over by the Secretary General of the ministry, Ismaël Zébret. Kansié’s appointment was confirmed by the Council of Ministers on May 29th, 2024.
Zébret, during the handover ceremony, commended Lompo for the accomplishments achieved during his tenure at AGETIB. He also extended congratulations and encouragement to Kansié as he assumes his new role.
Mathieu Lompo, prior to his departure, acknowledged the challenges AGETIB faced when he took office in 2018. Lompo’s professional background includes a prior role as Minister of Infrastructure and Unclogging in the government of Dr. Lassina Zerbo, serving from December 2021 to January 2022. He also holds a position as Directeur Général at AGETIB, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Kansié is a civil engineer and also previously served as Minister of Infrastructure and Unclogging. His appointment marks a continuation of government focus on infrastructure development within Burkina Faso.
According to a profile on LinkedIn, Mathieu Lompo is currently involved in transport infrastructure, public procurement, governance, international trade and project management, with a focus on sustainable development.
Further details regarding the specific projects and policies Kansié will prioritize as Director General of AGETIB have not yet been publicly released.
