Bulgaria: Man Dies After Truck Collision Near Plovdiv – Road Accident News
One person died following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a truck on the road between Plovdiv and Sadovo on Tuesday afternoon, Bulgarian authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred near Kemer at approximately 2:30 PM local time, according to the Ministry of Interior. Three individuals were injured in the incident, all traveling in a BMW. The most severely injured person succumbed to their injuries, despite efforts by medical personnel to save them.
Emergency responders had to cut through the wreckage of the BMW to extract the passengers. A temporary detour was established for traffic, routing vehicles through Sadovo, Katunitsa and the Kemer complex, as reported by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
Both drivers underwent alcohol testing, with results coming back negative, according to reports from Marica.bg, and BTA. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The incident sparked a heated debate online, with many social media users blaming the truck driver, alleging frequent violations of traffic regulations by large vehicles on that route.
The road was temporarily closed to allow authorities to process the scene.
