Buena Vista Social Club Cast to Perform on The Kelly Clarkson Show
The cast of the Tony Award-winning Buena Vista Social Club will appear on The Kelly Clarkson show to perform “Qué Bueno Baila Usted” on November 21, 2023. this performance marks a critically important moment for the production,bringing the vibrant sounds of Cuba‘s golden age to a national daytime audience.
Buena Vista Social Club, currently playing at the Cort Theatre, recently received a Special Tony Award recognizing the musicians of the Buena Vista Social Club band. The production features music direction by Marco Pagia, with David Okendo as adjustable music director, and a full ensemble including Renecito Avich, Gustavo Schwartz, Javier Diaz, Roman Diaz, Mauricio Herrera, Jesus ricardo, Eddie Venegus, Helly Paz, and Leonardo Reyna. The show, directed by Saheem Ali and choreographed by Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck, tells the story behind the legendary album and the artists who created it. The book is by Marco Ramirez.
