Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, early Friday morning, August 21, according to a statement released by the band. While the collision resulted in one fatality ahead of the bus, authorities confirmed that all members of Buckcherry and their touring crew are safe and unharmed.
The Crash on Interstate 26 and Immediate Official Response
The incident unfolded at approximately 2:00 AM on Friday, August 21, on I-26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, as the hard rock outfit traveled for their ongoing Roar Like Thunder Tour. According to a statement issued by the band on social media, the tour bus became entangled in a multi-vehicle accident. “Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality,” the group shared, offering deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.

Clarifying the sequence of events on the roadway, a statement from the South Carolina Highway Patrol explained that the individual who died had initially exited their vehicle following a crash before being struck by another car. The Buckcherry tour bus was subsequently involved in the aftermath as multiple vehicles collided on the interstate.
Tour Logistics and Upcoming Schedule Continuity
Despite the severity of the multi-vehicle pileup, the band confirmed that its members and traveling road crew emerged completely unharmed. The lineup currently features frontman Josh Todd as the sole original member, alongside guitarist Stevie Dacanay (Stevie D), guitarist Billy Rowe, bass player Kelly LeMieux, and drummer Francis Ruiz, as reported by Louder Sound.

The band stated that their scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Saturday, August 22, is expected to proceed as planned, with no other immediate alterations made to the tour itinerary. The current string of dates supports their 11th album, Roar Like Thunder, which dropped in June 2025 via Round Hill Records. Recorded in Nashville at Sienna Studios and produced by Marti Frederiksen, the 10-track LP was penned collaboratively by Todd, Dacanay, and Frederiksen.
Following the Florida stop, the tour schedule spans multiple venues, including the Key West Theater on August 23, the Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon in Fort Myers on August 25, and high-profile dates later in the fall supporting the Scorpions at PH Live in Las Vegas.
