Bucheon City concludes 2026 Bucheon Wellness Fair for citizens

October 7, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Bucheon City concluded the 2026 Bucheon Wellness Fair at City Hall and its lawn plaza, drawing approximately 1,000 citizens and visitors over a three-day run from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3.

Bucheon Transitions Wellness Forum into Public Festival

Operating under the theme “Traveling to Bucheon with Wellness,” the event built upon the foundation of the previous year’s Bucheon Wellness Forum by transitioning into a public-facing festival. The city designed the multi-day program to explore the expansion potential of a localized wellness tourism model through expert discussions and direct public engagement.

The opening day featured a specialized forum attended by roughly 60 industry experts and officials. Participants examined shifts in the tourism environment driven by the recently implemented Healing Tourism Industry Act and debated strategic development directions tailored to Bucheon’s distinct urban characteristics.

Market Integration and Community Programs

Running across the final two days, the Wellness Win-Win Market featured 31 booths operated by local artists, small business owners, and regional universities. The market offered flea market goods, beauty products, university anchor booths, and specialized wellness food options.

Concurrently, the municipal government hosted open-air activities on the City Hall lawn plaza, including wellness yoga sessions, community health gymnastics, and healing performances. These installations aimed to provide urban residents with structured opportunities for physical restoration and mental relaxation.

Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik stated that the fair successfully demonstrated the growth potential of the city’s wellness tourism initiative through the collaborative participation of residents, academic institutions, and local merchants. The municipal administration plans to analyze participant satisfaction rates and sales performance to refine future tourism policies, integrate regional commercial districts, and expand institutional partnerships.
