BTS member V has purchased a luxury apartment in Seoul for 14.2 billion won (S$13 million), reportedly paying for the property entirely in cash. The acquisition by the K-pop star,whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung,was completed on September 17,according to South Korean real estate records.
The 273.96 sq m residence, located in Cheongdam-dong and known as PH129 - formerly the Penthouse Cheongdam – features five bedrooms and three bathrooms wiht views of the Han River. The purchase contract was signed in early May, with ownership transferring upon final payment in September. no mortgage was registered on the property.
Developed in 2020 by Hyundai Engineering & Construction, the complex consists of 29 units across 20 floors, boasting ceilings up to 7m high. Larger units within the building have been valued at up to 17.21 billion won (approximately 407.71 sq m).
V’s investment follows similar recent real estate purchases by other BTS members. Jin acquired a Hannam The Hill unit for 17.5 billion won in June, while J-Hope purchased a penthouse at Afer Hangang for around 12 billion won earlier in 2024. RM and Jimin bought residences at Nine One Hannam in 2021 for 6.3 billion won and 5.9 billion won,respectively.
