Texas A&M Safety Bryce Anderson Avoids Serious Injury After On-Field incident
COLLEGE STATION, TX – Texas A&M safety Bryce Anderson did not sustain a “catastrophic injury” following a collision during Saturday’s 41-40 victory over Notre Dame, the university announced.Anderson was immobilized on a backboard and transported off the field with a neck brace after attempting a tackle late in the second quarter. He reportedly gave a thumbs-up to the crowd as medical personnel attended to him.
The Aggies confirmed Anderson traveled home with the team Saturday night and has undergone further evaluation.”We are thankful to report that no catastrophic injury was found,” the team stated. “Bryce is in great spirits, and our focus is now on supporting him through his recovery. We’re grateful for the manny thoughts, prayers and messages from the Aggie family and know that Bryce will continue to feel that support as he heals.”
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Anderson had feeling in his limbs following the game. The dramatic win saw the No. 10 Aggies defeat No. 24 Notre Dame on a last-second touchdown pass from Marcel Reed with just 13 seconds remaining.
Anderson has recorded 10 tackles this season. In 2023,the senior safety totaled 24 tackles and one pick-six over 13 games. Throughout his career, he has amassed 116 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and two interceptions.
A highly-regarded recruit, Anderson joined the Aggies as a four-star prospect and was ranked the No. 10 player in Texas by Rivals upon his high school graduation.
