Brussels Parking Rules to Change July 1st, Offering residents more Adaptability

Brussels residents will see changes to parking regulations starting July 1st, designed to offer greater flexibility and address affordability concerns. The modifications include a reduction in paid parking hours in residential areas, adjustments to fee structures, and an increase in available visitor parking tickets. These changes come amid growing debate over the rising cost of parking in the city center.

Key Changes to Brussels Parking Regulations

Effective July 1st, the period for paid parking in residential zones will be shortened by two hours, concluding at 7:00 p.m. Though, high-activity areas such as the Pentagon, Louise, and Heysel will maintain paid parking until 9:00 p.m. Simultaneously, local parking card fees and parking rates will be standardized across the Brussels Region.

Further adjustments are scheduled for later in the year. From September, the free parking duration at parking meters will be reduced to 15 minutes, allowing for quicker short-term stops
