MANCHESTER, England - Bruno Fernandes cemented his place in Manchester United history on Saturday, becoming only the fourth foreign player to score 100 goals for the club. The Portuguese playmaker reached the milestone in just 14 minutes during uniteds Premier League clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford, opening the scoring in a crucial victory.
It has taken Fernandes seven seasons at Old Trafford to reach 100 goals in 296 appearances. The landmark goal adds to an impressive Premier League record, with the midfielder now involved in over 100 goals across 200 appearances (64 goals scored, 39 assists).
Fernandes is now the fourth Portuguese player with the most Premier league appearances, trailing Luís Boa Morte (295), Bernardo Silva (270), and Cristiano Ronaldo (236). He has also risen to become the second-highest scoring Portuguese player in the competition, surpassing Diogo Jota (63 goals) and now trailing only Ronaldo, who has 103 goals.
