WWE’s Bruce Prichard Pushes Back On His ‘Yes Man’ Image

Bruce Prichard has spent decades in the professional wrestling business,working behind the scenes for both WWE and WCW. He’s often been labeled as a “yes man,” someone who simply agrees with whatever the top star or executive wants. Prichard recently addressed this perception on his “Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard” podcast.

“I hear this all the time,‘bruce,you’re a yes man.’ And it’s just not true,” Prichard stated. “I’ve had disagreements with Vince McMahon more times then I can count. I’ve had disagreements with Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Rock, Stone Cold… everybody. The difference is,I didn’t go running to the dirt sheets to tell everybody about it.”

Prichard explained that he often voiced his opinions privately, and if a decision went against his advice, he would ultimately support it publicly. He believes this is a sign of professionalism, not subservience. “I’m a team player,” he said. “Once a decision is made, I’m all in. I’m going to do everything I can to make it work.”

He further clarified that his role frequently enough involved presenting different perspectives, but ultimately, the final call rested with those in charge. Prichard emphasized that he wasn’t afraid to challenge ideas, even those from powerful figures. He pointed to numerous instances were he offered option suggestions that were considered, even if not always implemented.

“People want to paint this picture of me as just nodding and agreeing with everything,” Prichard continued. “That’s just not the case. I have a strong opinion, and I’m not afraid to share it. But I also understand how the business works, and I respect the authority of the people making the decisions.”

Prichard’s comments offer a rare glimpse behind the curtain of professional wrestling and challenge the long-held narrative surrounding his role in the industry. He maintains that his loyalty lies with the success of the product, and that sometimes means supporting decisions he doesn’t personally agree with.
