Brno Music Marathon Returns with Diverse Lineup, Street Performances

Brno, Czech Republic – The annual Marathon of Music festival is set to transform the city from Thursday, June 20th to sunday, June 23rd, 2024, with a program encompassing a wide range of musical genres and unique performance spaces.

This year’s festival will feature Estonian duo Puuluup, known for thier innovative blend of customary and modern sounds. Othre confirmed performers include the band Dumai Dunai,Serbian violist Jelena Popvan,and the group Lada & Kapela. Klára Veselá and Slovak singer-songwriter Kali, the recipient of this year’s Radio_head award, are also scheduled to perform. Notably, the festival will also showcase the performance of legendary Indian percussionist Trilok Gurt.
Elder Busking: Transforming Streets into Concert Halls
A central element of the Marathon of Music is the Elder Busking project, spearheaded by artist Kateřina Šedá. This initiative converts unconventional locations throughout Brno’s streets – including kitchens,toilets,and this year,a specially constructed tramp cabin with a campfire on Svoboda Square – into intimate concert venues.
The elder Busking lineup includes Thom artway, Danube, Old Boys pilgrims, Alfasrnec, martin Harich, Game of Art, and Flaškinet. The cabin on Svoboda Square will be open not only to performers but also to attendees wishing to socialize and camp.
