Brits Hotel Karawang Hosts Cars Worldwide Carmeet 2026, A Collaborative Event for Automotive, UMKM, and Lifestyle Communities
The Brits Hotel Karawang in West Java has announced the inaugural Cars Worldwide Carmeet 2026, a multi-faceted event set to take place in February 2026. The initiative, organized in collaboration with local automotive clubs, small businesses, and lifestyle brands, aims to create a platform for networking, showcasing vehicle innovations, and promoting regional economic growth. The event’s official launch was confirmed during a press briefing on October 12, 2023, with organizers emphasizing its role as a “cultural and commercial bridge” between automotive enthusiasts and the broader community.
According to event coordinator Rizal Prasetyo, the Carmeet will feature over 500 exhibitors, including classic car collectors, electric vehicle startups, and custom motorcycle builders. A key component of the program is a series of workshops on automotive technology, led by industry experts from Indonesia and abroad. These sessions, scheduled for February 18-20, 2026, will cover topics such as sustainable manufacturing practices and digital design tools, with participation open to both professionals and hobbyists.
The hotel’s management has highlighted the event’s economic potential, citing projections that it could generate over IDR 1.2 trillion (approximately $80 million) in local revenue through tourism, hospitality, and retail sectors. This aligns with the West Java provincial government’s 2025 tourism strategy, which prioritizes niche events to diversify the region’s economic base. Local UMKM (micro, small, and medium enterprises) have been invited to participate in a dedicated marketplace, with 30% of booth fees waived for businesses registered by December 2023.
Infrastructure preparations are already underway, with the Karawang Industrial Area Authority confirming that traffic management plans and temporary parking facilities will be finalized by mid-2024. The Cars Worldwide Carmeet 2026 is scheduled to conclude with a “Global Car Parade” on February 22, 2026, featuring vehicles from over 20 countries.
