British Prime Minister says “critical accountability” to former Conservative administration – BBC News

Super Injunction Lifted,Revealing Sensitive Details Leak

A Super Injunction,which had previously prevented the reporting of certain sensitive information,was lifted by a judge in May 2024,just prior to former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak‘s general election proclamation. The Conservative government at the time challenged this decision, leading to the injunction’s continuation. now, ministers from the current Labor management are facing scrutiny for their role in maintaining the injunction.the Prime Minister’s Office has defended the government’s decision to seek an extension, citing the need for extensive assessment of the situation. An official review into the possibility of lifting the Super Injunction commenced in January of this year.While the Prime Minister’s Office has not disclosed whether disciplinary action was taken against the individual responsible for the leak, an official confirmed that the person is no longer in their previous role.Both Defense Minister John Healey and Conservative Leader Kemi badenoch have issued apologies on behalf of their respective parties concerning the leak.

The information that was leaked emerged after the withdrawal of US and british forces from afghanistan in 2021. the leaked data included the names of individuals who had applied for relocation to the UK through the Afghan resettlement and Support System (ARAP). This program is designed to assist Afghans and their families who collaborated with the British government, offering protection to those who feared reprisal from the Taliban.

The labour administration’s ministers had reportedly considered lifting the Super Injunction last autumn.
