Brisbane 2032 Committee unveils Olympic and Paralympic Games emblems
The Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee unveiled the Olympic and Paralympic Games emblems featuring native Australian birds and symbols designed to showcase the diversity of Queensland to a global audience.
Queensland Locations and Statewide Reveals
Twelve Olympic, Paralympic, and sporting greats took part in five separate reveals held across Queensland prior to the final launch. The rollout spanned Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast.
Stops included the Great Barrier Reef, Castle Hill, Rockhampton’s Riverside Precinct, Wildhorse Mountain, and Currumbin Beach. Each location added another piece to the overarching Brisbane 2032 identity before the six individual elements converged at a final launch event featuring two large-scale physical emblems in Brisbane’s South Bank.

Cockatoo Emblems Reflect Australian Nature and Queensland
The emblems incorporate multiple distinct themes representing Queensland, Australia, and the Games.
The birds are depicted with cheeky, inquisitive, and playful characteristics intended to reflect the nature of Australians. Additional details embedded within the cockatoos’ crests include the outline of Queensland, the Olympic and Paralympic flames, and a group of three and two feathers signifying a home Games in 32.
Stakeholders and Committees Warmly Receive New Designs
Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee President Andrew Liveris stated that the emblems underwent extensive market research and community testing both locally and internationally prior to the public reveal.

Senior Games stakeholders, including the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, warmly received the designs. International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons noted that the joyful nature of the cockatoo reflects the emotion the upcoming Games will bring.
Preparation Timeline and the Path to 2032
The newly unveiled emblems will serve as a central component of the visual identity for Brisbane 2032 as preparations advance. These designs remain separate from the official Games mascots, which will be unveiled closer to the start of the event.
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 8, followed by the Paralympic Games from August 24 to September 5, 2032.
