Brindisi prosecutors appointed engineer Sergio Civino on Friday, November 6, 2026, to extract a forensic data copy from the mobile phone belonging to Antonio Nisi, who was found dead in the historic center of Ostuni during the night between October 16 and October 17, 2026, according to BrindisiReport.
Forensic Examination of the Victim’s Smartphone
The forensic extraction order was issued by Public Prosecutor Laura De Stradis of the Brindisi public prosecutor’s office. The defense team for the suspect, represented by attorney Vito Cellie, chose not to appoint a private consultant for the phone data extraction. A similar approach was taken by the defense for a 46-year-old individual under investigation for aiding and abetting, represented by attorney Francesco Sozzi, and by lawyers Grazia Curigliano and Mario Guagliani, who represent the injured parties.
Carabinieri and prosecutors are pursuing multiple investigative lines to clarify remaining dark points in the case. Investigators aim to establish exact criminal responsibilities and reconstruct the precise sequence of events from the October night when Nisi died in the alleys of Ostuni.
Sorada Denies Intending to Kill Nisi During Shooting
Gabriele Leonardo Sorada, a 28-year-old resident of Ostuni, is currently held in prison on charges of voluntary homicide in connection with the case. Sorada has consistently maintained that he did not intend to kill Nisi when he fired a 6.35 caliber pistol. According to the suspect’s statements, the firearm initially vanished before being recovered through his intervention, and the shots were fired solely to force Nisi away from his home following an argument over drug-related issues that remain unclear.
The suspect allegedly sent a threatening message to Nisi’s girlfriend prior to the fatal altercation.
