Bridgerton Season Five Production Targeted for Early 2026
Fans of the popular period drama Bridgerton may see the next installment arrive sooner than previously anticipated.Production for the fifth season is currently scheduled to begin in March 2026, following the release of the fourth season.
The announcement comes as Netflix confirmed both a fifth and sixth season are already planned. This accelerated timeline aims to shorten the gap between seasons, which previously reached nearly two years. The production schedule for season five is being set in conjunction with the release of season four, which will debut in two parts: January 29,2026,and February 26,2026. According to a report by the Express, production is expected to commence quickly after the season four release, though a specific date remains unconfirmed.
Season four will center on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), while season five will adapt Julia Quinn’s novel To Sir Phillip, With Love. The fifth season will follow Eloise bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) as she develops a relationship with Sir Phillip Crane, a widower and father of two, through a correspondence.
Each season of Bridgerton has consistently featured eight episodes. While filming typically takes approximately eight months, post-production timelines have varied, ranging from four months for season two to fourteen months for season three.
Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for season five. However, if filming concludes by late 2026, new episodes could perhaps be released as early as 2027. the early renewal for future seasons before the fourth season’s release demonstrates confidence in the show’s continued success. The shift towards a faster production schedule addresses viewer frustration with the nearly two-year wait between seasons three and four, which featured Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin bridgerton (Luke Newton).
