Country singer Briana adams was eliminated from The Road during the show’s fifth episode, following a performance-based decision by judges Keith Urban and Blake Shelton. Shelton and Urban praised both Adams and Billie Jo for their performances, acknowledging the difficulty of the decision. “You both sounded really incredible,” Shelton stated. “For us, we feel like from the connection that was had here tonight on stage, Billie Jo was the one we’re going to move forward to next week.”
Adams, anticipating the outcome, acknowledged her song choice as a “gamble” but expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “Thank you so much for this opportunity. I got to come here and be unapologetically myself,” she said after her elimination.
Channing wilson received the highest rating of the night, marking the second time he has earned that distinction. Urban commented on Britnee kellogg’s performance, stating, ”Britnee did great. that’s a really hard cover, and then her original connected to that audience.” Shelton also lauded Kellogg, saying, “Britnee’s one of those vocalists where you don’t realize how powerful she can really be becuase she’s sort of soft spoken, then all of a sudden she hits these notes when she gets up there that are really incredible.”
The remaining contestants – Adam, Channing, Billie Jo, Britnee, Cassidy Daniels, Jenny Tolman, and Cody Hibbard – will continue their journey in Tulsa.The Road airs Sundays on CBS.
