Brewers’ Top Prospect **Misiorowski** to Debut Against Cardinals

Highly-touted Pitcher Set to Take the Mound in Milwaukee

The Milwaukee Brewers are poised to unleash their brightest pitching prospect, **Jacob Misiorowski**, as he prepares for his major league debut Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 23-year-old right-hander’s arrival injects excitement into a Brewers rotation currently ranked 12th in the MLB with a 3.87 ERA.

Rising Through the Ranks

**Misiorowski** joined the Brewers organization after being drafted in the second round of the 2022 amateur draft from Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. He quickly ascended through the minor league system, showcasing a powerful fastball and developing secondary pitches.

This season at Triple-A Nashville, **Misiorowski** posted a stellar 4-2 record with a 2.13 ERA across 13 appearances, including 12 starts. He demonstrated impressive command, racking up 80 strikeouts in 63 1/3 innings, though he also issued 31 walks.

“I think it just plays into the fact that the Brewers trust me, and they think I have the strength to do it,”

**Misiorowski**’s fastball consistently reaches the mid-to-upper 90s, even exceeding 100 mph at times. He complements his velocity with a slider, curveball, and changeup, giving him a diverse arsenal to challenge hitters. According to Statcast, the average fastball velocity for pitchers making their MLB debut in 2024 was 93.8 mph (Baseball Savant).

A Childhood Team Now in the Crosshairs

The debut holds particular significance for **Misiorowski**, who grew up following the Cardinals while residing in Blue Springs, Missouri. He expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to face a team he admired during his youth.

“I think it’s really cool to face a team I grew up watching all the time,” said Misiorowski. “So, I’m excited.”

**Misiorowski** will fill the rotation spot previously held by right-hander **Aaron Civale**, who has a 1-2 record and a 4.91 ERA this season. Brewers manager **Pat Murphy** confirmed the promotion, stating simply, “He’s here.”

While **Misiorowski** was considered for a September call-up last year, he ultimately continued his development in the minors, refining his skills and settling into a starting role. He emphasized his willingness to accept any role assigned to him.

“I just got out there and throw whatever they ask,”

The Brewers believe **Misiorowski** has the potential to become a cornerstone of their starting rotation for years to come, and his debut represents a significant step toward realizing that vision.
