Brewers Edge Dodgers 2-1 in NLCS Game 1
Brice Turang hit a solo home run and the Milwaukee bullpen shut down the Los Angeles Dodgers following Jacob Misiorowski’s taxing outing, securing a 2-1 victory for the Brewers in the National League Championship Series opener on Sunday night, Oct. 11, 2026.
Turang Homers And Lara Delivers The Tiebreaking Single In Fifth
The Brewers broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning when rookie Luis Lara hit a clutch single off Tarik Skubal. Milwaukee capitalized on situational hitting after Garrett Mitchell drew a leadoff walk and advanced on rookie Cooper Pratt’s sacrifice bunt. The victory marked the first NLCS game featuring two 100-win teams since the Cincinnati Reds eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies in 1976. For Milwaukee, the win snapped a seven-game postseason losing streak against the Dodgers, which included a sweep in last year’s NLCS.
“You can’t go into a long series against a team that has the best record in baseball and expect to just win four,” Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said.
Los Angeles struggled to convert opportunities, grounding into three double plays, stranding nine base runners, and going 1 for 6 with runners in scoring position. The Dodgers fell to 2 for 22 overall in the current playoffs, looking to become the first club to capture three consecutive championships since the New York Yankees achieved the feat between 1998 and 2000.
Dodgers Chase Misiorowski Early Before Milwaukee Bullpen Takes Control
Misiorowski limited the damage by inducing an inning-ending double play from Enrique Hernandez. The Dodgers ultimately chased the right-hander in the fifth inning, but they managed just two hits against four subsequent Milwaukee relievers.

“I didn’t think I had my best stuff, good enough to make it work,” Misiorowski said.
DL Hall relieved Misiorowski with a runner aboard and promptly induced Freddie Freeman into a double play. Abner Uribe later worked through the sixth frame, striking out Andy Pages with runners on the corners. Aaron Ashby pitched two frames before Trevor Megill locked down the ninth inning for the save.
Yamamoto Encounters Henderson In Game 2
Game 2 shifts to Monday in Milwaukee, where the Dodgers will send Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound against Brewers starter Logan Henderson. Yamamoto enters the contest with an 8-1 record and a 2.14 ERA across 11 postseason appearances, having tossed a three-hitter in a 5-1 victory at Milwaukee during Game 2 of last year’s NLCS before capturing World Series MVP honors. Henderson is making his second career postseason start following five-plus innings of two-run ball in a 4-3 divisional series win over San Diego. The right-hander also posted a 2-0 record and a 0.75 ERA against Los Angeles over two regular-season starts.
“You can’t get to this point without great defense,” Milwaukee Manager Pat Murphy said. “We haven’t turned as many double plays in the postseason as you’d like, but tonight it was key.”
Will Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s postseason dominance shut down Milwaukee’s momentum, or will Logan Henderson maintain his regular-season mastery over the Dodgers in Game 2?
