Brentford Chelsea TAPs: Ticket Forwarding Rules & Dates

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Digital Ticketing: TAPs Requirements for Brentford vs. chelsea

Brentford FC’s upcoming Premier League match against Chelsea on Saturday, September 13th (kick-off 8pm BST) at Gtech Community Stadium will be the club’s first Category A fixture of the 2025/26 season, triggering Ticket Access Point (TAP) requirements for ticket purchases and transfers.

As previously communicated with the season’s ticketing process, these TAP requirements are in place to ensure tickets reach genuine Brentford supporters.

Here’s how the requirements apply for the Chelsea match:

Purchasing Tickets: Standard TAP criteria apply.

Forwarding Tickets:

Season Ticket and Premium Seat holders can forward their tickets to friends and family who also meet the on-sale eligibility criteria – specifically, members with 100+ TAPs.
My Bees members can forward their match tickets to friends and family who meet the same criteria (a member with 100+ TAPs).

These TAP requirements will be enforced for all Category A Premier League home fixtures this season, following a review and agreement with fan groups.

The full list of Category A fixtures currently scheduled are:

Chelsea – Saturday, September 13th
Manchester United – Saturday, September 27th
Liverpool – Saturday, October 25th
* Arsenal – wednesday, February 11th

Please note that fixture dates are subject to change due to broadcast selections. TAP thresholds may also be adjusted based on security advice or scheduling alterations. Further details on the categorization of all other home Premier League fixtures can be found in the 2025/26 Ticketing Guide.

Ticket Exchange & Every Seat Counts Policy:

Season ticket and Premium Seat holders unable to attend a match, and not forwarding their ticket, are encouraged to list it on the ticket exchange as soon as possible. This provides another fan with the opportunity to attend and avoids receiving a yellow card under the club’s Every Seat Counts policy.

Listing a ticket at least seven days before the fixture guarantees a pro rata credit refund later in the season. Instructions on using the ticket exchange are available on the club website.

why TAPs?

Brentford FC utilizes TAP requirements for high-demand fixtures to combat ticket touting and prioritize access for loyal supporters. The system restricts who can purchase or receive forwarded tickets, preventing them from falling into the hands of rival fans. This is further supported by the club’s new digital ticketing system, which aids in identifying and revoking access for touts, ensuring home areas remain for home fans.

The TAP system also rewards members who regularly attend games, ensuring those who demonstrate consistent support have priority access to high-profile matches, aligning with the club’s five-year rolling TAP policy.

Tickets for the Chelsea and Manchester United fixtures are currently on sale on the Brentford FC website.
