Breno’s December Calendar Brims with Cultural Events, Traditional Celebrations & Musical Performances
Breno, Italy – The town of Breno is embracing the spirit of the season with a comprehensive December calendar packed with cultural events, time-honored traditions, and a diverse range of musical performances. Organized by the Municipal Governance and local associations, led by the Pro Loco, the program promises a festive atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
Culture takes centre stage with “Con la testa fra le stelle,” a performance by the Anfass inclusive theater company on December 3rd at 8:30 pm at the Cinema Teatro giardino. The Palazzo della Cultura will host a meeting with Giulia avancini as part of the “Come trame di un canto” Festival on December 4th at 8:45 pm, and the Cinema Teatro Giardino will celebrate 40 years of Cai Breno on December 19th.
Traditional celebrations include the distribution of tripe at the Pompier de Brè detachment for Santa Barbara on December 4th, starting at 6:30 pm. The cutting of Brè cheese will take place on December 8th from 2:00 pm in Piazza Sant’Antonio, alongside markets awaiting Santa Lucia on December 7th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in Piazza Mercato. Families can enjoy ”Fairy tales and tales in the magical night” on December 12th at 4:30 pm in the Carabinieri square.
Market Square will be bustling with activity, hosting the Farmers’ Thanksgiving Festival on December 14th from 9:30 am and a Mexican Posada on December 19th from 6:00 pm. For the adventurous, the Tonga Association’s Jump en de l’Oi offers a daring plunge into the Oglio river.
Music fills the air with five scheduled events. The Voci dalla Rocca Choir and the Horns of the Wind Orchestra of Vallecamonica will perform a concert in memory of Sandro Farisoglio on December 7th at 8:30 pm in the church of Sant’Antonio. Children’s performances are planned for December 18th at 6:00 pm at the Cinema Teatro Giardino with the Valverti Foundation, and December 19th at 7:30 pm at the church of Sant’Antonio with the Pescarzo primary school. The Made in a Smile Choir and writer Marina Moscardi will present “Poems and songs” on December 20th at 8:30 pm, also at the church of Sant’Antonio.
Rounding out the festivities is the 50th edition of the Christmas concert of the lombardy Philharmonic Complex on December 21st at 8:45 pm in the golgi High School gym. Art enthusiasts can view a nativity scene exhibition curated by the Oratorio group from December 19th to January 6th in the church of Sant’Antonio, and the exhibition “popolani, bambocci and genre scenes” from December 13th to February 8th at CaMus.
