Bremen Zine Festival Explores Science in 8th Edition
The Bremen Zine Festival opens its 8th edition from October 23 to 25, 2026, at the Städtische Galerie Bremen, transforming the venue into a hub for independent print culture organized by Kulturnetz e.V.
Städtische Galerie Bremen Hosts Over 70 Exhibitors
More than 70 exhibitors from Bremen, Germany, and across the globe are gathering for the three-day event. The festival showcases a wide array of self-published print works, spanning queer and political publications, poetry, comics, music fanzines, and personal narratives. Admission to the exhibition at Buntentorsteinweg 112 is entirely free for all visitors.
Doors open on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Weekend hours run from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
Science Theme Explores Knowledge Production
Organizers have centered this year’s program around the theme “Science,” examining how zines function as dynamic media and spaces for creating and sharing knowledge. Kulturnetz e.V. highlights that the thematic focus extends from niche fan culture—such as He-Man publications—to music, soccer, self-help, and societal critique.
Zines addressing the state of society share floor space with personal narratives and artistic experiments. The festival maintains an open submission ethos, welcoming publications regardless of whether they adhere directly to the central theme.
