Bratislava Mobile Service‍ Center Files for Bankruptcy Despite Recent Gains

bratislava, Slovakia – A large mobile phone and electronics service ⁤center ⁤in Bratislava’s Rača district has filed for bankruptcy, signaling potential concerns for foreign investment in slovakia. MobileTouch Slovakia, previously owned by Austrian companies Haai and MobileTouch, submitted its bankruptcy petition to Bratislava III court in early September, with the proceedings finalized recently.

The center, which has operated in Bratislava ‍since 2007 under various ownerships including Swiss firms Bachmann and Revendo as of this spring, employed approximately ‌25 people and generated around €10⁣ million in annual sales.

Despite a recent period of improved business performance over the last two years, the company is concluding operations with a debt ⁤of €33,000 owed to the state in unpaid social ⁣contributions for its employees.

Industry observers note the bankruptcy is surprising given the extensive experience of previous owners in electronics refurbishment and the company’s recent positive trajectory. The closure⁣ is raising alarms⁢ within the Slovak business⁢ community, with concerns that deteriorating business conditions could lead to further departures of foreign investors.
