Brandon & Bury St Edmunds Win Gold in Britain in Bloom Awards

## West ‍Suffolk Towns Bloom with National Recognition

west Suffolk⁣ is celebrating a double victory ⁢in the Royal⁤ Horticultural‍ Society’s (RHS)‌ Britain in Bloom ⁢competition,with both Brandon and Bury St Edmunds awarded gold medals.The awards were presented at a ceremony in Brighton‌ on Friday,October​ 31st.The​ success follows gold wins in the regional Anglia in Bloom competition‍ last year, which secured both towns a place in ⁤the national final. Britain in ​Bloom encompasses ‌17 ‌regions,each nominating its top entries. Brandon in Bloom CIC triumphed in the Town category, while⁢ Bury​ St Edmunds in Bloom earned‍ gold‍ in the Large ‌Town category.Adding to​ the accolades, Rachel Sobiechowski, Head of ​Horticulture ‌for ​Brandon in ​Bloom CIC, was recognised⁢ nationally⁤ with one⁢ of eight⁤ Community ⁤champion Awards presented at the ceremony.

Cllr Ian Shipp,⁤ West Suffolk Council’s​ Cabinet ​Member for Leisure, ‌praised ⁣the achievement: ‍”To see⁢ both Brandon and Bury St Edmunds awarded ⁤gold at a national level ⁣is an extraordinary achievement and a reflection⁢ of the dedication, creativity and pride of our​ thriving communities‌ in West Suffolk. The competition is ‌a powerful ⁢example of how local action can ⁣create a lasting change. These awards recognize not only the beauty of⁢ our towns,but also the shared commitment of ‌residents,volunteers and staff to make them ⁢greener,cleaner and more welcoming ‍places for all.”
