The film’s arrival marks a significant boost for Italian cinemas, offering a major blockbuster draw during a traditionally quieter period.
The success of “Dune: Part Two” underscores the continued appeal of large-scale cinematic experiences for Italian moviegoers. According to data released by Cinetel, the film attracted over 630,000 admissions between February 23rd and 25th. This strong opening positions the film as a potential frontrunner for the year’s highest-grossing releases in Italy.
Trailing behind “Dune: Part Two,” “il signore delle Formiche” (The Lord of the Ants), directed by Gianni Amelio, held steady in second place with €484,000 ($524,000) from 230 screens. Rounding out the top five were “Povere Creature!” (Poor Things) with €338,000 ($366,000), “Wonka” with €288,000 ($312,000), and “Ghostbusters: Frozen empire” with €260,000 ($281,000).
