Boston Pickle Club to Open Largest Facility in Windsor, CT
The Boston Pickle Club plans to open a 37,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility featuring 12 Cushion X courts at 20 Day Hill Road in Windsor, Connecticut, in October 2026, according to Citybiz. The project marks the company’s third location and its largest club to date, expanding operations beyond Massachusetts into the Greater Hartford and Springfield regional markets.
The new Windsor site arrives as indoor athletic operators scale up to meet year-round demand for court time in cold-weather regions. According to reports from Citybiz, roughly 1.2 million residents live within driving distance of the Day Hill Road property, providing a dense customer base for the club’s extensive amenity package.
Facility Layout and Recreational Amenities
The 37,000-square-foot footprint allows for a wide array of specialized spaces designed to move the club beyond simple court rentals. The facility will house 12 indoor Cushion X courts with ceilings exceeding 20 feet, locker rooms equipped with showers, a pro shop, a mezzanine overlooking the playing areas, and a dedicated event space. Outdoors, members will have access to a patio and bar area.
Chief Growth Officer Mike Wilmot noted the strategic positioning of the new site. Windsor felt like the right next step for the brand because the surrounding area possesses an active pickleball community that lacked a premium indoor destination, according to statements reported by Citybiz. The facility aims to capture both casual players and serious competitors through a comprehensive club model.
Programming and Regional Membership Value
Operations at the Windsor club will feature structured programming, including leagues, tournaments, clinics, private instruction, DUPR-based open play, youth initiatives, community programs, social events, corporate gatherings, and private parties. Local businesses will also have access to corporate sponsorship opportunities.
The Windsor location integrates into a broader regional network. Memberships will grant access across all Boston Pickle Club locations. The company previously opened its first two sites in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, in May 2024, and Norwell, Massachusetts, in December 2024. Those two clubs maintain a combined base of more than 1,300 active members, generate over 4,000 weekly visits, and hold a Net Promoter Score of 55, according to company figures cited by Citybiz.
Co-founded by ATP professional and six-time national Platform Tennis champion Johan du Randt, three-time national champion Stephen Mitchell, and entrepreneur Steve Hauck, the enterprise continues to refine its facility design. Wilmot stated that the Windsor club builds directly on operational lessons learned in Hyde Park and Norwell while expanding physical capacity and service offerings.
Regional Economic Impact and Real Estate Evolution
Discounted early membership promotions for the Windsor location are scheduled to launch later in August, leading up to the official grand opening in October.
