Eagles Dominate Fairfield Invitational with Series of Singles and Doubles Victories
the Boston College men’s tennis team concluded a prosperous weekend at the Fairfield Invitational,securing wins against Fordham and showcasing strong performances across both singles and doubles play. The Eagles demonstrated their competitive edge, with multiple players contributing too the team’s overall success.
The invitational, held this past weekend, provided a valuable chance for the Eagles to test their skills against a challenging opponent in Fordham. In Sunday’s singles matches against Fordham, Aidan Pack defeated Athreya 6-4, 6-2, while Luke Levanat overcame Stofa 7-6 (4), 7-6 (1). Liam O’Leary secured a victory against Victoria with scores of 6-4, 7-6 (6), and Lukas Rais triumphed over Stojanovic 6-2, 6-1. Lucas Rao delivered a dominant performance, winning against Ramos 6-0, 6-0, and Matthew Overvelde defeated Garnier 6-1, 6-2. Mai Gao battled against Horak, falling 6-2, 1-6, 10-8, and Matvey Greschner was defeated by Lokier 7-5, 6-2. Matthew Carioscia also faced a loss against Gradzki, 6-1, 7-5. Lukas Rais also secured a 6-3 win in Saturday’s singles competition.
The Eagles also excelled in doubles play. the duo of Matvey Greschner and Matthew Overvelde defeated Stofa and Barrientos 6-4.
