Bosnia Earthquake: 4.4 Magnitude Tremor Shakes Livno & Felt in Split

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck near Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5:31 PM local time, according to reports from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The tremor was centered 13 kilometers northwest of Livno, a town in the southwest of the country. The quake was also felt in the Croatian city of Split, according to multiple news outlets.

Bosnian authorities have reported no immediate reports of damage or injuries following the earthquake. Though, local media outlets indicate that residents in the affected areas described the shaking as strong. “Some citizens said the windows rattled, and others said furniture in their homes shook,” reported Türkiye Gazetesi.

The EMSC data confirms the magnitude and location of the earthquake, placing the epicenter at a relatively shallow depth. Haber7 reported that the quake was “felt quite strongly” by those in the region.

As of 9:01 PM local time, no further details regarding potential aftershocks or a comprehensive damage assessment have been released by Bosnian or Croatian authorities.
