Boise Stabbing: Man Arrested, Victim Hospitalized with Life-Threatening Injuries
A 24-year-old man is in custody following a stabbing in West Boise early Tuesday morning that left the victim hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to the Boise Police Department.
James Rice was arrested by Meridian Police around 11:15 a.m. And booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated battery. The arrest followed an investigation into the incident, which was reported near the intersection of Ustick Road and Five Mile Road at approximately 12:40 a.m.
Police stated that Rice and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the stabbing. Upon arrival, officers and Ada County Paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the injured man. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he remains under treatment.
Activity related to the investigation took place Tuesday morning on Ustick Road between Locust Grove and Meridian roads, according to a spokesperson for the Meridian Police Department. The Meridian/Garden City Special Tactics Group assisted Boise Police in taking Rice into custody.
The Boise Police Department expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Meridian Police Department and the Meridian/Garden City Special Tactics Group in a statement. The investigation remains ongoing.
