Boise Man Sentenced to Prison for Possessing 51 Illegal Firearms
Anthony Buhler Sentenced for Unlawful Firearm Possession in Boise
Anthony Buhler received a prison sentence of up to five years after Boise police seized 51 firearms from his residence, none of which he was legally permitted to own. Court records show that 10 of those recovered weapons were stolen.
The case concluded following a plea agreement entered in July, in which Buhler admitted to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. Two additional counts against him were dismissed as part of the agreement.
Police Find 51 Weapons in Buhler Home
The investigation began in January when a search warrant was executed after Boise police gathered evidence that a felony offender possessed stolen firearms. Authorities located the 51 weapons during the search of Buhler’s home.
State law in Idaho prohibits convicted felons from owning or possessing firearms, classifying the offense as a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Court records document Buhler’s prior felony convictions, including aggravated assault in 2002, alongside older convictions for theft and controlled substance possession dating back to 1995.
Judge Sentences Buhler to Five Years in Prison
In October, Judge Derrick J. O’Neil sentenced Buhler to a prison term of up to five years with eligibility for parole after one year. Court records note that Buhler was credited with three days served and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine plus over $200 in court costs.

Online prison records indicate that Buhler is currently held at the Idaho Department of Correction. He will reach his initial parole eligibility date in September 2027.
