Tromso's Romssa Arena

Bodo/Glimt Supporter Hospitalized After Stand Collapse at Tromso Match

November 8, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

A Bodo/Glimt supporter was hospitalized after falling through a hole in the away stand during a Norwegian top-flight match against Tromso on Sunday.

The Eliteserien fixture at Romssa Arena was paused in the 41st minute before half-time after Bodo goalkeeper Nikita Haikin alerted the referee to the danger.

Bodo/Glimt press officer Simen Pedersen stated to the Reuters news agency that up to five people fell through the stands. Bodo supporter Andrine Moen told local newspaper Verdens Gang that fans were bouncing to a supporter song when the floor suddenly gave way. Moen noted that the structure cracked in two in the row directly in front of them, sending at least two individuals plunging downward.

Broadcaster NRK reported that four supporters received medical attention following the collapse, with one subsequently taken to the hospital. Tromso issued a statement confirming a serious incident in the away section but provided no further details regarding the extent of the injuries.

The match took place at Romssa Arena, the northernmost venue in Norway's Eliteserien, during heavy rainfall. Following the incident, matchday staff, police, and club officials consulted before moving the remaining Bodo supporters to different sections of the ground.

The game eventually resumed from the 0-0 scoreline. Bodo forward Ola Brynhildsen scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory for the league leaders.
