BNP Paribas Fortis has recorded a net profit of 3.095 billion euros in 2023. The profit of the largest bank in the country now exceeds 3 billion euros, just like the year before. Revenues passed the 10 billion euro mark, BNP Paribas Fortis reported on Friday when publishing the annual figures.
A year earlier, the profit figure was slightly higher, resulting in a reported decline of 1.3 percent. But in 2022 there was also a one-off positive accounting impact of 245 million euros that boosted the profit figure. On a comparable basis, the bank speaks of an 8.7 percent increase in profit compared to 2022.
Net income amounted to 10.55 billion euros. The increase on a comparable basis of 9.1 percent pushed the figure past the 10 billion mark. Higher interest income also led to growth at BNP Paribas Fortis.
The bank proposes a dividend of 5.01 euros to the sole shareholder, the French major bank BNP Paribas. The Belgian state has an interest of approximately 5.3 percent in the French parent bank.
