BNB Chain becomes first blockchain to top $1 billion in tokenized assets

BNB Chain becomes first blockchain to top $1 billion in tokenized assets

October 2, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

BNB Chain has become the first blockchain network to surpass $1 billion in tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds, hitting a market capitalization of roughly $1.1 billion according to data published by Token Terminal. The milestone reflects a broader market expansion that pushed total tokenized equities to $3.7 billion globally, with BNB Chain capturing nearly 30 percent of the segment.

The Tech TL;DR:

  • BNB Chain leads the tokenized equity sector with approximately $1.1 billion in market capitalization, representing nearly 30 percent of the global total.
  • The broader tokenized stocks and ETF market expanded to $3.7 billion, growing over fivefold since January.
  • Binance Research data indicates BNB Chain hosts 1.8 million unique addresses holding tokenized stocks, accounting for 45 percent of active participants in the sector.

Market Share Shifts Across Major Blockchain Networks

The global market for tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds climbed to $3.35 billion in September, representing a 17 percent increase from $2.87 billion in August, per Token Terminal figures. By the time of reporting, the sector expanded further to $3.7 billion. BNB Chain secured the top position with its $1.1 billion valuation, while Ethereum held second place with $828 million, or 22 percent of the market. Solana followed in third with $738 million, representing 20 percent. Together, these three networks control over 70 percent of the entire tokenized securities ecosystem.

This distribution marks a stark contrast to January figures, when the total sector stood at just $719 million. At the start of the year, Ethereum dominated with a 48 percent market share, Solana held 31 percent, and BNB Chain maintained only 13 percent. The nine-month shift illustrates rapid movement in decentralized financial infrastructure. Beyond total valuation, BNB Chain leads in user distribution. Binance Research noted that 1.8 million unique addresses hold tokenized stocks on the network, representing 45 percent of all active participants across the sector. Ecosystem products such as Binance bStocks and Ondo Global Markets tokenized securities drive this underlying liquidity and adoption.

Ripple Integrates XRP Ledger with Brazilian Securities Depository

While BNB Chain scales its retail and institutional tokenized equity footprint, Ripple is expanding its presence in Latin America’s regulated financial infrastructure. Ripple executives characterized the integration as a transition from limited pilot programs into live, compliant infrastructure with direct connectivity to capital markets.

Luke Judges, a Ripple executive, estimated that the initial asset issuance cycle on the platform could carry a market value of up to $15 billion. Despite the scale of the deployment, XRP trading prices did not react positively. The token traded near $1.51 at the time of the announcement and slid to approximately $1.47 by October 1. Hugo Philion, co-founder of the Flare network, publicly questioned the disconnect on social media. Philion pointed out that fundamental developments frequently fail to trigger immediate valuation gains across distributed ledger assets, drawing parallels to similar price action observed with Flare’s native token, FLR.

RLUSD Stablecoin Supply Crosses Two Billion Dollars

Ripple’s stablecoin operations are expanding concurrently with its ledger integrations. The company’s RLUSD stablecoin crossed a circulating supply of $2.4 billion, according to transparency disclosures dated September 24. Standard Custody & Trust Company, a regulated custodian supervised by the New York Department of Financial Services, issues the token. Monthly CPA attestations published by Ripple verify that reserves backing the stablecoin exceed circulating supply by approximately $122.5 million, or about 5 percent, held in segregated accounts consisting of US dollars and liquid cash equivalents.

RLUSD surpassed the $2 billion threshold in late August, adding more than $400 million in supply over a single month. Distribution remains split across multichain environments. Ethereum accounts for approximately $1.38 billion of the RLUSD supply, while the XRP Ledger holds roughly $1.03 billion, with both networks periodically trading the top distribution spot throughout the year.
