Latvian Rider Treimanis Secures Silver at BMX European Cup
Český Krumlov, Czech Republic – Mārtiņš Emil Treimanis of Latvia clinched second place in the U-23 division of the BMX Cycling European Cup this weekend, marking a significant achievement for the young athlete and Latvian cycling. The Latvian Cycling Federation (LRF) confirmed the result following the competition held in the Czech Republic.While Treimanis finished fourth in Sunday’s final race, maintaining his position despite a challenging track, the overall standings awarded him the silver medal in the U-23 category. Danish rider Markus Cheap took the win in the second round. The European cup event saw a total of 802 BMX cyclists compete.
Latvia also saw strong performances from other athletes. In the elite men’s group, Noah Rafael Lāke advanced through the first and quarter-final rounds, ultimately finishing 12th overall. Gustavs Puriņš was the top Latvian performer in the junior boys’ division, reaching the semi-finals and securing 11th place. Adeline Karklina demonstrated impressive skill in the junior girls’ category, finishing fifth in the final stage and earning a third-place overall ranking.
