New Deal Speeds Path to Bluefield Business Degree
Bluefield University is partnering with Mercer County schools in West Virginia to offer a new pathway for high school students to earn college credit, accelerating their progress towards a business degree. The agreement allows students to transfer up to 15 credit hours of completed coursework into Bluefield’s undergraduate business programs.
Students who achieve a grade of C or better in designated Mercer County Schools courses can apply to Bluefield University and have those credits applied directly towards their degree. This benefit is available to students in all grades, ensuring coursework completed throughout high school can contribute to their future education.
The program substantially benefits students considering Bluefield’s accelerated “3+1” program, which allows participants to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Governance (MBA) in just four years. Starting college with 15 credits already earned further streamlines this path.
Eligible courses include:
accounting Principles I and II – transferable as BUS 2533 – Accounting Principles (3 credit hours)
business Computer Applications I – transferable as BUS 2323 – Personal Computers (3 credit hours)
