Epervans, France – Thirty-nine individuals generously donated blood this Tuesday at a collection drive organized by the Association of Blood Donation, hosted in Epervans.
The event, warmly received by volunteers Nicole and Hervé of the Amicale, highlights the ongoing need for blood donations to support regional healthcare. Blood supplies remain critically vital, notably for hospital services like pediatrics, and consistent donor participation is vital to maintaining adequate reserves.
Among the donors were familiar faces like Lou-Anne, a 25-year-old nurse from Chalon-sur-Saône. “I work in the hospital pediatric service and I know how much we need blood,” she shared, adding, ”I like to come and give here because I don’t feel like I am at work and the atmosphere is family.”
Olivier, a 48-year-old production manager from Epervans, has been donating for 22 years. “I find it simply a civic gesture. I have relatives who needed transfusion and I therefore find it completely normal to give when you are in good health,” he explained.
The Association of Blood Donation also welcomed two first-time donors during the half-day event.
the next blood donation prospect is scheduled for Friday, October 10, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Saint Marcel. Appointments can be made here.
