Stig Lægden has been appointed the new bishop of the North Hålogaland Diocese,the appointment committee announced February 6,2025. Lægden, currently holding a position within the Diocese, is favored to succeed the outgoing bishop, Olav Øygard.
The selection of Lægden marks a pivotal moment for the North Hålogaland Diocese, encompassing Norway’s northernmost counties.
