Big 12 Announces Colorado Men’s Basketball schedule
BOULDER – Teh Big 12 Conference released the 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule for all 16 teams on Tuesday.
The conference schedule will consist of 18 games,a decrease of two from the previous season. Teams will play home-and-home series against three opponents and face the remaining 12 teams in single games - six at home and six on the road. Opponent selections were made to optimize travel and competitive balance.
Colorado will have home-and-home matchups with Arizona State, Utah, and Texas Tech, who reached the 2025 NCAA Elite Eight. The Buffaloes will begin Big 12 play with the first game of each of thes series within the first three conference contests.
Colorado opens its second season in the Big 12 on the road against Arizona State on Saturday, January 3. The Big 12 home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, against Utah. Texas Tech will then visit the CU Events Center for the first time as March 2010 on Saturday, January 10.
The series with Arizona State is the only repeat pairing from Colorado’s 2023-24 Big 12 schedule. The Buffaloes will host the Sun Devils later in the season on Saturday, February 7.
Seven of Colorado’s nine home opponents participated in postseason play in 2024-25. Single home games are scheduled against Arizona, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, and UCF.
The game against Kansas is set for Tuesday, January 20, near the midpoint of the Big 12 schedule. Arizona will visit for senior Day on Saturday, March 7.
Oklahoma State and Kansas State are slated to play at the CU Events Center for the first time since the 2010-11 season in consecutive games on Saturday, February 21, and Wednesday, February 25, respectively.
Colorado will also play single road games at BYU, Baylor, NCAA runner-up Houston, Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Iowa State. The buffaloes’ game at West Virginia on Saturday, January 17, will mark the final current Big 12 venue Colorado has yet to visit, following a trip to Cincinnati on Wednesday, January 14 – their first visit as December 1981.
The regular season will conclude with a road game at NCAA runner-up Houston on Saturday, February 28, marking the Buffs’ first trip to the UH campus since December 1994.
Game times and television broadcast data will be announced at a later date.
