Beyoncé Releases B’Day 20th Anniversary Deluxe Album Featuring Selena and Maluma

September 5, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

The expansive reissue includes previously unreleased tracks, upgraded 4K visuals, and high-profile collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Maluma, and a posthumous sample of late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla.

The 20-Year Evolution of a Modern R&B Blueprint

Originally released on Beyoncé’s 25th birthday in September 2006 by Columbia Records, Music World Entertainment, and Sony Urban Music, the original 13-track project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

“I wanted the album to be big, percussive, hard, up-tempo, and energized,” she stated, emphasizing the careful balance of blending rhythmic elements with classic vocal arrangements.

New Collaborations, Samples, and Spanish-Language Additions

The anniversary edition expands significantly beyond the initial tracklist, offering a total of 31 songs. Among the additions is the slinky, late-night track “Can I Watch You” featuring Pharrell Williams, alongside previously unheard cuts like “Creole,” “Lost Yo Mind,” “My First Time,” and “Back Up.”

A major focal point of the reissue is its heavy embrace of Spanish-language adaptations and cross-cultural collaborations. The project features “Oye” (the Spanish version of “Listen”), “Mueve el Cuerpo” (Get Me Bodied), and “Irreemplazable.” Furthermore, the release introduces a vibrant, percussive version of “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)” that integrates previously released vocals from late Tejano legend Selena Quintanilla, alongside a collaboration with Colombian artist Maluma on “Cuerpo (Tumbao),” which samples Celia Cruz’s 2001 track “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.”

The release highlights the partnership as a meaningful duet between two Texas-born artists who broke down industry barriers.

Remastered Visuals and Physical Collectibles

Alongside the streaming and digital rollout, the anniversary package includes physical configurations. Fans have access to a deluxe B’Day vinyl featuring a 60-page collectible booklet with era-specific imagery shot on location in New Orleans. Additionally, the music videos originally shot on 35mm film have been meticulously remastered and re-colored in 4K resolution.
