Best TV Brands 2026: Top Picks & Reviews

March 21, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Samsung’s S90F OLED television, released in 2025, currently leads the market in overall performance, according to reviews published this month by CNET and RTINGS.com. The S90F is praised for its image quality, low lag for gaming, and ease of installation, with a current price of $1,398 for a 55-inch model.

However, the landscape is shifting, with TCL emerging as a strong contender, particularly in value. Hisense is also gaining recognition for integrating features like full-array local dimming – previously found only in more expensive televisions – into more affordable models. The Hisense QD7QF, for example, offers a level of picture quality not previously seen in its price range, according to CNET’s review.

RTINGS.com’s latest rankings, published February 4, 2026, highlight a range of top performers, including LG’s C5 and G5 OLED models, and Samsung’s S95F and S85F OLEDs. The site’s “Best TVs” list also includes several TCL QM-series models, demonstrating the brand’s increasing presence in the high-quality television market. The rankings cover a variety of screen sizes, from 40-inch to 100-inch, and cater to different needs, including gaming and outdoor viewing.

Despite the rise of these brands, Sony continues to be a favored choice among enthusiasts, according to a recent discussion on Reddit’s r/hometheater forum. One user stated that Sony televisions “always gaze better than the other brands,” and that most Sony models consistently outperform their competitors. This sentiment reflects a long-held perception of Sony’s superior picture processing and overall quality.

The market is currently dominated by 2025 models, as reviews of 2026 televisions are still pending. CNET anticipates reviewing the new models shortly, but notes that the current market offers a wide range of options for consumers at various price points. The availability of features like OLED and QLED technology is expanding beyond premium brands, offering consumers more choices than ever before.

The question of whether smaller brands can truly compete with established manufacturers remains a point of debate. Some consumers are seeking alternatives to the “premium prices” charged by larger brands, hoping to find comparable quality at a lower cost. However, the long-term performance and reliability of these smaller brands remain to be seen.
