Former Canal+ Commentator Bertrand Guillemin Joins Stade Français as Team manager
Paris, France – September 3, 2025 - Bertrand Guillemin, a familiar voice to French rugby fans after a 25-year career with Canal+, has accepted the position of Team Manager with Stade Français Paris. Guillemin confirmed the appointment on his linkedin network, returning to the club where he previously played in the 1997-1998 season.
The move follows Guillemin’s departure from Canal+ this summer, a dismissal that occurred without public description regarding the procedure initiated by the encrypted channel. His transition marks a critically important shift for the veteran commentator, moving from the broadcast booth to a direct role within the operational structure of a Top 14 team. Guillemin’s appointment is expected to bolster the club’s management team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Guillemin will reunite with Stade Français Director General Thomas Lombard, with whom he played during their time at Racing 92. He was already present with the team at their preparation internship in Houlgate, beginning in early August, though his role had not been officially announced by the club as of today.
