Berentzen Sales Drop: 2025 Earnings Missed Amidst Market Challenges

February 12, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

German spirits producer Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft reported a significant decline in revenue and operating profit for the 2025 financial year, falling short of even repeatedly lowered expectations. The company’s revenue decreased by approximately ten percent to €162.9 million, even as earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) fell by around 20 percent to €8.5 million, according to a company statement.

The results mark a downturn for the Haselünne-based company, which had already revised its revenue forecast downwards multiple times throughout the year. Initial expectations of up to €190 million were first reduced to a maximum of €178 million, and then further adjusted to €169 million in October. Despite these adjustments, the final revenue figure remained over €6 million below the last projection.

Berentzen-Gruppe CEO Oliver Schwegmann attributed the poor performance to “challenging market conditions” impacting sales volumes. The company also cited the divestiture of a production facility in Grüneburg at the end of 2024 as a contributing factor. A shift in consumer behavior, specifically a weakening demand for alcoholic beverages within the German market, was also identified as a key issue, according to Schwegmann.

Despite the decline in revenue and EBIT, the company’s operating profit landed within the previously communicated range of €8.0 to €9.5 million. This target had also been lowered during the summer of 2025, from an earlier expectation of €10 to €12 million.

Berentzen-Gruppe’s portfolio includes its flagship Berentzen brand, as well as Doornkaat and Bommerlunder. The company also produces non-alcoholic beverages such as Mio Mio and Sinalco under license.

The preliminary business results for 2025 were published on February 12, 2026, according to a report from TradingView. Further details are expected to be released with the full annual report.
