Bemidji State Women’s Hockey Faces Top-Ranked Ohio State on the Road

October 29, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team travels to Columbus to face unanimous No. 1 Ohio State University in a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series starting Friday, October 30, at OSU Ice Rink, bsubeavers.com reported.

Opening Faceoff Set for Friday at OSU Ice Rink

Opening faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Central on Friday, October 30. The series concludes with a 2 p.m. Central matchup on Saturday, October 31. Both games will stream live on Big Ten Plus, with live statistics provided through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

The Beavers remain on the road after dropping 2-1 and 3-1 decisions at then-No. 9 St. Cloud State University last weekend. Bemidji State enters the weekend 1-7-0 overall and 0-6-0 in WCHA play, holding an 0-3-0 record in away games and a 1-0-0 mark at neutral sites.

Tough Early-Season Schedule Meets Historic Series Deficit

Six of the Beavers’ first eight games have come against nationally ranked opponents. That stretch includes three matchups with Minnesota, two against Minnesota Duluth, and two against St. Cloud State.

Bemidji State owns a 29-70-13 record across 112 all-time meetings with Ohio State. The Buckeyes have won the past 21 games in the series.

Bemidji State’s most recent victory against Ohio State was a 3-2 win at Sanford Center on Feb. 11, 2022. The Beavers’ last road win in the series came by a 3-2 score on Feb. 8, 2019, at OSU Ice Rink.

Close Previous Encounters in Columbus

Bemidji State earned one of its closest results against Ohio State last season, falling 2-1 in Columbus on Oct. 11, 2025. The Beavers scored first in that contest on a power-play goal by Hailey Armstrong and held the Buckeyes scoreless on four power-play opportunities.
