October 27, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk booked a net profit of Rp45.2 trillion during the first nine months of 2026, marking a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to its official release reported by Bloomberg Technoz.

The nine-month earnings figure aligns with consensus estimates, fulfilling 75 percent of full-year projections, stockbit.com reported. For the third quarter alone, the bank generated Rp15.7 trillion in net profit, climbing 9 percent year-on-year and 6 percent quarter-on-quarter. Third-quarter net profit growth was also supported by a 53 percent year-on-year decline in provisioning expenses.

Credit expansion anchored the financial results through September. Total lending grew 12.6 percent year-on-year to reach Rp1.063 triliun, according to Kumparan.com. Productive loans climbed 17.2 percent to Rp831 trillion, led by corporate financing which expanded 20.9 percent to Rp528.1 trillion. Commercial credit rose 7.8 percent to Rp154.1 trillion, while small and medium-sized enterprise loans grew 15.4 percent to Rp149.2 trillion. Customer deposits increased 8 percent year-on-year to Rp1.301 triliun. Sustainable financing reached Rp280.3 trillion, climbing 16.3 percent year-on-year and accounting for 26.4 percent of total financing. Lending expansion was supported by the BCA Expo 2026 and BCA UMKM Fest 2026 events, which involved more than 1,600 business participants, alongside the BCA Wealth Summit 2026 financial education forum.

Corporate Repricing Lifts Net Interest Margins Against Industry Trends

Net Interest Income accelerated during the third quarter, rising 5 percent year-on-year and reversing a slight contraction recorded in the first half. The improvement stemmed from both loan volume growth and higher margins. The Net Interest Margin climbed to 5.6 percent in the third quarter from 5.3 percent in the second quarter, driven by corporate loan repricing that lifted rupiah loan yields while funding costs held steady, stockbit.com noted. Net Interest Income totaled Rp22.5 trillion in the third quarter, while Pre-Provision Operating Profit grew 2 percent year-on-year over the first nine months. The bank reported a Net Interest Margin of 5.41 percent based on its financial statements through September.

Upward Revisions to Lending Guidance and Credit Quality Metrics

Strong credit demand through September prompted management to revise its full-year loan growth target upward. The bank now expects lending to expand, surpassing its initial guidance of 8 to 10 percent, according to stockbit.com. ANTARA News cited executive statements pointing to a potential range of 10 to 12 percent. Director Hendra Lembong stated that the institution is committed to channeling loans across diverse sectors to back the national economy while maintaining prudence and liquidity considerations. Vera Eve Lim noted that lending growth could reach double digits between 10 and 12 percent, with Net Interest Margins expected to remain near third-quarter levels. Corporate loan growth was supported by sectors such as agriculture and plantation, infrastructure and transport, power generation, and digital infrastructure, while small and medium enterprise loans grew through wholesale and retail trade, business services, transport and logistics, and food and beverage manufacturing.

Asset quality metrics remained stable alongside the lending acceleration. The Loan-at-Risk ratio stood at 4.6 percent through the third quarter, while the non-performing loan ratio held at 1.8 percent, Kumparan.com reported. Cost of Credit stood at 0.4 percent in the third quarter.

Digital Services and Share Buybacks

The bank continued expanding its digital platform through the myBCA application, introducing new features including the Indonesian Credit Card, which allows QRIS transactions funded by the card through myBCA, as well as a planned fixed mortgage program. For small and medium-sized enterprises, the bank offered the Business Multipurpose Credit Hari UMKM 2026 facility with effective interest rates starting from 5.81 percent per year and extended tenors between July 2026 and January 2027. Regarding share buybacks, management stated that out of funds allocated, a portion remains available for selective and opportunistic execution.
