Bayron Sánchez & DJ Regio Clown: Mexico Identifies Bodies After Disappearance

Colombian Musicians Found Dead in Mexico After ⁤Disappearance

Mexico City – Colombian‍ singer Bayron ‌Sánchez, known ‌as B-King, and DJ Jorge ⁣Luis Herrera, also called DJ ⁢Regio Clown, have been found ‍dead⁢ in the State of Mexico, six days after being reported⁣ missing in⁤ the Polanco area of Mexico City.

The Attorney General of Mexico City confirmed the revelation on September 22nd. The bodies, matching the descriptions of the Colombian artists, were located ‌on September 17th ⁢in the municipality of Cocotitlán and positively identified by B-King’s family on Monday. Authorities have launched a homicide inquiry.

According to a statement from the Attorney⁢ General’s office, the identification was made through a comparison of ‌profiles and⁣ “coincidences” with the deceased.Relatives of⁤ Bayron Sánchez Salazar formally identified him during a process at the Regional Subprocuraduría of Tlalnepantla.

Initial‍ reports from journalists indicate ​the bodies were identified “by tattoos,” and‍ some​ sources, including Antonio Nieto, report ⁢the musicians ‌were “dismembered” and found alongside ⁤a possible “narcomessage.” These ⁤claims are ⁢currently under investigation.

Sánchez and Herrera were in Mexico ‍for professional engagements and were last seen on September 16th at a gym in the Polanco neighborhood⁣ around 4:00 PM local time. Both were reportedly wearing ​sportswear and were together at the time of their disappearance. B-King had ⁣communicated with his sister,Stefanía,shortly before they ‌were last seen.

The disappearance prompted a direct appeal ​from Colombian President Gustavo Petro to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on September 21st. ⁣In a post on X ⁢(formerly Twitter), petro requested assistance in locating the ⁢artists, stating: “I ask the president of ⁣the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum, my friend and fighting companion from the M19, ‍and the‌ entire‌ diplomatic⁢ corps of⁤ Colombia in Mexico, get the singer Bayron Sánchez and‌ his coequipero Jorge ​Herrera appear alive.”

President Petro further commented on the potential causes⁣ of their disappearance, suggesting, “They disappeared after their concert in sonora, perhaps as of the multinational mafias that grow in our continent, due to the bound consumption of drugs in the US that grow, also, due to the lack of love ‌of their decadent society.” ‍He added, “I hope Mexico’s help to find these ​beautiful young people alive who dare⁢ to sing to beauty and keep hope⁣ in their heart. Everything, to⁤ find with life‍ the beautiful young people of Colombia, to unite in youth and in the songs to all Latin​ America, avant -garde⁢ of humanity, beauty and changes.”
