WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Whitman CollegeS baseball team, previously leading the Northwest Conference, now sits in third place after a Saturday afternoon doubleheader loss to Pacific University at Borleske Stadium.

the defeats ended a three-game conference winning streak for the Blues. They aimed to rebound in Sunday’s series finale.

game 1: Pacific 11, Whitman 8

The first game of the doubleheader showcased a high-scoring affair.Several Whitman players delivered strong offensive performances.

  • Jonah Chang: Four hits,one run.
  • Jack Bickerton: Two hits, one run, three RBIs, including a two-run double in the first inning.
  • Halen Otte: One hit,two runs,one RBI,drawing a bases-loaded walk to tie the game in the sixth.
  • Beck Maguire: Three hits, one run.

Despite the offensive output,the Blues faltered late in the game.

Pacific rallied with five runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by two 2-run hits. the inning was highlighted by a pair of two-run base hits as Whitman trailed by five runs heading into their half of the eighth.
