Barsinghausen: Man Arrested After Woman Found Dead, Daughter Critical

A 38-year-ancient woman is dead and her 13-year-old daughter is in life-threatening condition following a domestic incident in Barsinghausen, near Hannover, Germany. Police responded to a distress call at approximately 2:10 AM on Monday, March 23, 2026, initiated by the victim’s 15-year-old son.

Upon arrival at a home on Rehbrinkstraße, officers found the woman with injuries from which she could not be revived, according to police spokesperson Michael Bertram. The 13-year-old daughter was also discovered at the scene suffering from severe injuries and was immediately transported to a hospital for emergency medical treatment. Her condition is currently described as critical.

A 49-year-old man, believed to be the father of the two children and partner of the deceased woman, was present at the scene and surrendered to police without resistance. He was taken into custody and underwent a medical examination, police confirmed.

The initial emergency call, as described by Bertram, indicated that the father had attacked the mother. Two younger children were also present in the home at the time of the incident and were found to be physically unharmed. They have been taken into the care of the youth welfare office.
