Glasgow, KY – The Barren County Family YMCA was named the recipient of South Central Bank’s (SCB) February “3 Degree Guarantee” award, recognizing its contributions to the local community, SCB announced on social media platforms earlier this month.

The 3 Degree Guarantee program, as highlighted by South Central Bank, acknowledges organizations that positively impact Barren County through initiatives focused on youth development, family engagement, and healthy lifestyles. The YMCA of Barren County offers a wide range of programs, including childcare, day camps, aquatics, and various sports for children and adults, according to the YMCA’s website and statements from SCB.

Tara Bailey, Executive Director of the Barren County Family YMCA, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that the YMCA’s mission is “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for ALL.” Bailey emphasized the importance of community support in enabling the YMCA to fulfill its mission and contribute to a thriving Barren County.

The YMCA provides programs for children aged three to eleven, encompassing both recreational and educational activities. These include afterschool programs, preschool camps, and a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, and baseball. Aquatic programs range from group swim lessons to swim parties. The organization also offers CPR, First Aid, and AED training, as well as lifeguard certification courses.

South Central Bank presented a donation to the YMCA in March 2025 as part of the 3 Degree Guarantee partnership, according to an Instagram post from SCB. The bank’s initiative aims to support local organizations that demonstrate a commitment to community well-being.

The Barren County Family YMCA is currently promoting its new mobile app and encouraging community members to connect with them on Facebook for updates on events and programs. The organization continues to seek donations and volunteer support to expand its services and reach within the community.
