Mercy Health – ​Springfield Weight Management Re-Accredited ⁢for High-Quality Obesity care

Patients in the Springfield area now ​have access‍ to nationally recognized, thorough care for severe obesity with‌ the re-accreditation of Mercy Health ⁢- ‍Springfield Weight ⁣Management.The program, ⁣initially accredited in 2018, has been re-accredited by the American ​Society for Metabolic and ⁤Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the‌ American College of Surgeons (ACS), demonstrating its commitment to the highest standards of patient safety and quality.

“Receiving re-accreditation means patients⁢ interested in ‌addressing their weight⁤ have access to ‍a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure,” explains Dr. Terry carman, director of Metabolic ​and Bariatric surgery‌ at​ Mercy‌ Health – Springfield Weight⁣ Management. “We offer both preoperative and postoperative care, as⁢ well as non-surgical options, allowing us to create individualized care plans that‌ meet each patient’s unique needs and improve long-term success.”

Among 45 weight management programs within a 250-mile radius, Mercy health -​ Springfield is one ⁢of only eight to achieve both comprehensive⁤ surgical accreditation and obesity medicine qualifications.
