Barcelona and Real Madrid face disciplinary review after La Liga report
FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are facing potential disciplinary scrutiny following a heated The Classic encounter that resulted in an official report documenting 17 distinct incidents. The findings have been forwarded to the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission for further assessment.
Incidents Involving Barcelona Supporters
According to La Liga’s report, ten of the recorded incidents involved Barcelona supporters. The documentation highlights several offensive chants directed at Real Madrid, including “F* Real Madrid, f* Real Madrid” and “Madrid supporters, sons of b*****.” Additionally, chants targeting manager Jose Mourinho and player Cucurella were noted.
The most severe incidents occurred following Kylian Mbappé’s 87th-minute goal. Supporters from the Grada Gol 1957 section reportedly threw various items onto the pitch, including cans, bottles, lighters, and a vaping device. While none of the objects struck players, the referee was forced to pause the match for one minute and 20 seconds to allow for a stadium announcement. A spectator reportedly struck Eduardo Camavinga with a flag during the celebrations. Barcelona has confirmed that its security staff identified the individual involved in the flag incident and is preparing to apply internal regulations to expel the supporter.
Real Madrid Fan Conduct
The investigation also encompasses seven incidents involving travelling Real Madrid supporters. La Liga’s report attributes these to fans who repeatedly engaged in offensive, anti-Barcelona chanting, specifically citing the phrase “F* Barca, f* Barca, hey.”

Disciplinary Review Process
While the disciplinary committee is now tasked with examining the report to determine appropriate sanctions, no punishments have been confirmed. La Liga emphasized that these incidents were isolated to specific sections, noting that the overwhelming majority of attendees behaved appropriately. The matter remains under review by both the Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission.
